Capturing County Color

Jim Kiesling said he’s been painting for the last seven years. He said he was working on two pieces at the same time, looking left and looking right for two different views of the creek at Carpenter’s Park. At this point in his pieces, he said he had set the composition and was building the color foundation.

Saturday, the Dragonfly Gallery, run by the Santa Rosa Art and Culture Foundation, hosted the Bagdad Village Paint Out. The competition featured local artists and those from further away painting all over the Milton/Bagdad area. They had from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to paint and frame two works apiece with judging to follow.
