A Ghostly Tour of Milton

Local Santa Rosa County Historian Nathan Woolsey and Wesley Meiss, (now Milton Mayor), are shown in a photo from last year, preparing for a weekend of tales from the past. Ghost Walk is an annual event where Santa Rosa County residents both watch and portray characters from local history. Hundreds will tour the city and enjoy scenes from the past.

The Santa Rosa Historical Society is proud to present the 14th Annual Ghosts of Milton Walking Tour. This Friday and Saturday, Ghost Walk tours will leave the Imogene Theatre every 10 minutes beginning at 6 p.m. with the last tour leaving the theatre at 9 p.m. The Ghost Walk is not a haunted house or a horror show, but a fun way to learn about Milton's colorful past. Tours will depart the Imogene Theatre and stop at approximately 13 locations with live actors portraying actual scenes from Milton's history. Performers in ghostly array will render tales of foolishness, perhaps tales of woe, but all portrayals will reflect Milton's incredible past. This year, tour voyagers will tour several historic buildings, including the historic Mt. Pilgrim African Baptist Church, 1939 WPA Post Office and the Milton Louisville & Nashville Railroad Depot. In addition to the Ghost Walk, the Imogene Theatre will play the classic film Hocus Pocus while tour goers wait. The film is free to the public.
