Think independently on Amendment 2

Dear Editor,

With the vote on Amendment 2 coming closer and closer, it seems more and more misinformation is being volleyed about; almost as much as is being tossed around about the courthouse sites.  First, the law is not de facto legalization.  Furthermore, if medical use was a precursor for recreational use then why are oxycodone, morphine, hydrocodone, and fentanyl not street legal?

Second, medical legalization is not going to be the end of the world.  For example, if you look at the actual study from Colorado on auto accidents, you will find there were only 40 more marijuana related accidents within the state.  Furthermore, the tests to determine if a driver had used could not determine if they were under the influence because it only could detect usage within the last week or so (i.e. no causal relationship could be established).

Finally, I would like to challenge people to think critically and independently.  Since you are reading this in Santa Rosa County, I would suspect you oppose gun control because it is a protected right by the Constitution and because it would only keep guns out of the hands of law abiders; both are absolutely accurate.  There is no difference in the case for medical marijuana.  People already smoke marijuana in large numbers for recreational purposes and risk little chance of being caught.  It is, on the other hand, people who need it for medicinal purposes and greatly fear being caught who do not have access to it.
