SPEAK OUT October 11

Friday 9:18 a.m.

This is Fred. I’d like to encourage all registered voters to get out and vote Election Day whether you’re Republican or Democrat or Independent. I know a lot of people say their vote doesn’t make any difference but it does make difference. A lot of good men and women died earning the right to vote. In the last 200 years a lot more men and women died to keep the right to vote. Exercise your right to vote please. Thank you.

Friday 5:16 p.m.

Hello I’m calling in regard to what’s happening in West Africa and I don’t know if the Lord’s trying to prepare His people for something. I don’t know if He’s trying to call us all to righteousness. However, we were told a couple weeks ago by the CDC America really didn’t have to worry about Ebola. Once again they let us down. Why doesn’t our president go ahead and isolate Africa from going to and from our country and the same with England? If it comes to America we’ll all be under some form of martial law because we won’t be able to cross county or state lines. It could really get bad.

Friday 7:02 p.m.

Yes I’m going to solve Santa Rosa and the state’s financial problem over widening Highway 90. I can’t understand why none of them can understand that the cheapest way to do this is to make a new bridge from East Milton over to Berryhill Road and make Berryhill Road from East Milton  over to Stewart St one way west and Highway 90 would be one way going east over to East Milton ‘cause that’s the same place they built that temporary bridge when they built the original bridge that’s over Highway 90 now.

Friday 7:04 p.m.

This is George. I see in the paper where they’re going to include Navarre and Gulf Breeze in the decision in the location the courthouse. Regardless of where it is up in this area it’s not going to affect them that much. It may cause them to have to drive a little bit more or a little bit less but it’s not going to ruin their city. It’s going to be a great disadvantage here in Milton because if they tear down the courthouse or move it somewhere else, wherever the location is, it’s greatly going to affect Milton and if they move it outside the city limits you’re going to increase traffic across the bridges. It needs to stay right where it is.

Friday 11:55 p.m.

Thank you for the opportunity once again to speak out and use my privilege of freedom of speech. In reference to Dennis Dean taking that a good person with a gun is better than an evil person that beheads another. Well anybody who has a gun who likes to kill is just as worse as anybody who likes to behead people. I like to ask the question, which is worse a hater or a Muslim or ISIS or people who hate just to hate. I mean hate is hate; evilness has no compassion for knowledge. Evilness is stupidity. Stupidity’s best friend is ignorance. So Dennis, put the gun away. God is not dead.

Saturday 10:44 a.m.

Hi, there is something on my mind and I’m saying this perhaps to get some response from others. This Ebola, if it gets into our country, it’s going to affect the monetary system and we’re really going to be in trouble so I hope everybody prays they come up with a vaccine. Of course we all know some vaccines don’t help like this one disease I think it’s hepatitis it takes many shots to get one person’s cells to correspond. I’m wondering about the children who came in from Central America, Mexico and other places.

Saturday 11:56 a.m.

Yes, this is for the good citizens of the Arlington Wood neighborhood. There was a lot of police activity in the neighborhood on Friday and I know you don’t know what happened but my son was lured down there and robbed on your street by one of your neighbors. I can’t give names or details because it’s an ongoing investigation but he was robbed on Arlington Wood and we had to call the major crimes unit. This is an active investigation if the Press Gazette wants to look into it and happened on Friday.

Saturday 5:02 p.m.

Yeah, this is Bobby. I have a couple of comments. The speak out column from the lady on skyline worrying about the people speeding on Dogwood, I don’t know why it bothers her so much. She sounds like a busybody to me, but if she just drives the speed limit, and minds her own business, everything is fine. And to the guy who doesn’t want to vote for the tax because he doesn’t know where the courthouse will be built, well that’s the way America is supposed to work. We all vote to do what the most of us want to do, so if you vote for the tax whatever side gets the majority that’s where it’ll be built and that’s the people’s will. Thank you.

Saturday 7:07 p.m.

This is Evelyn. The Press Gazette did a great service publishing names along the rights of way for the proposed south route of Highway 90. Now it would be helpful if you’d publish the names of the principles who own the LLC company that has the property where the commissioners want the courthouse west of Avalon and Highway 90 intersection. Also, look carefully at the professions of the volunteer committee members who wrote the so called factual white paper SRC Chamber of Commerce sponsored in the Press Gazette this week. Thank you for letting me do that. Bye.

Saturday, 8:20 p.m.

Yes this is Tony from East Milton. Many years from now folks are going to look back at all the bad decisions they made about the Blackwater Bridge in connecting Highway 90 because in November you are going to find out that the rest of the county doesn’t want the new courthouse in the middle of a big traffic jam. It’s the worst bottleneck in the county. They’ll vote for Avalon Blvd or Pea Ridge or even East Milton, which are all faster to get to and will have plenty of parking. The next year or two, all the public defenders, lawyers, stenographers, the rest of them from the court services will move away from those old, outdated buildings to get closer to the new courthouse. Then all those old ratty buildings by the river will be empty. It will turn into a ghost town.
