Monday, October 13, 2014 at 6:00pm attendees of the Santa Rosa Tea Party Patriots will be informed regarding the three Florida Amendments that will be on the November ballot.
Amendment 1- Water and Land Conservation – Dedicates funds (from your tax dollars) to acquire and restore Florida conservation and recreation lands. Mr. Dan Peterson, Executive Director for the Coalition for Property Rights, a non-profit advocacy movement working to promote and protect private property rights will bring us the truth behind Amendment 1, and why we should not vote for it.
Amendment 2 – Allows the medical use of marijuana for individuals with debilitating diseases as determined by a licensed Florida physician, and allows caregivers to assist patients' medical use of Marijuana. You will see a video debate between the author of this amendment and the sheriff of Pasco County Fl. You will learn who really wrote this amendment which has so many loopholes in it that an elephant could run through them. There is a lot of “attorney” money behind this amendment, and young people are being pursued to vote yes on it, when you see the video you will understand the real reason they want it, and it is not for medicine.
Amendment 3- Proposing an amendment to the State Constitution requiring the Governor to prospectively fill vacancies in a judicial office to which election for retention applies resulting from the justice’s or judge’s reaching the mandatory retirement age or failure to qualify for a retention election; and allowing prospective appointments if a justice or judge is not retained at an election. Currently, the Governor may not fill an expected vacancy until the current justice’s or judge’s term expires. We will have our own Santa Rosa Tea Party member, retired Judge R.S. Gritta who will give his unbiased opinion on this amendment.
Be informed about the Amendments, don’t vote blindly, vote informed! The public is invited to attend this very informative meeting. If you have any questions, please call 994-7548.
