McMillan sentenced to life for sexual battery on child

State Attorney Bill Eddins announced that Vance Auris McMillan, age 31, was found guilty on October 1 of Sexual Battery upon a Child Less Than 12 Years of Age following a jury trial in Santa Rosa County.  Circuit Judge John F. Simon immediately sentenced Vance Auris McMillan to life in prison without parole. 

Reports said in May 2013, McMillan sexually molested the 8 year old victim at his home in Milton.  The child disclosed the abuse to her mother who immediately reported it to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office. 

The investigation was conducted by Detective William Wheeler of the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Stephanie G. Pace.
