Speak Out 9/14/14

Hello, this is Marian. Milton and Santa Rosa County would be a better place to live if our mayor, council members, and county commissioners would make decisions that would benefit the people. The economy is bad and getting worse. The wasteful spending needs to stop. We all need Godly wisdom. A little motto that helps me is God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Thank you.

Yes, I just want to say that we need to support President Obama for what he is doing and enough God to guide him and do the right thing. We need to stop criticizing him especially senator or governor or whatever with the last name Cruz. I pray he never can do half of himself. We just need to pray more and harder for our people to be safe and the country to be safe.

Thank you for the opportunity to speak whatever’s on my mind. I think this guy named Bobby should run for president, governor, or mayor. He seems to have all the answers in order. Yes, and in reference to Dennis, we should all consider that we’re all aliens and the land doesn’t belong to just particularly anybody or any particular race. I think everybody should have freedom to move and roam wherever they like. After all, most of the white Americans in this country seem to be everywhere in the world and nobody is trying to discard them or cause them problems to be somewhere else to do better. People should think and consider they are all human beings no matter who they are, where they are, or what race they are. Thank you and have a blessed day.

Yeah, this is Bobby. I see in Saturday’s paper where the bus drivers are whining about money and stuff. It’s always odd that people get these jobs paid by taxes and then they want to join a union. The teamsters union has always been the most corrupt union in the world. The first thing they want to do they want more money and everything and expect everybody to be on their side when we’re the ones who have to pay for them. If you don’t like the job, go somewhere else. Go up north. If you have to join a union, go work for Ford Motor Company. You couldn’t even work there unless you don’t join the union. When I hired on, they said the workers work for the union and the bosses work for Ford. That’s the union way of thinking. So if you don’t like it, go somewhere else. Thank you.

Hey, this is Dennis. I agree with Helen that litter in our area is a problem but I’m sure it’s not just a local problem. It’s more likely a nationwide problem. I see three main culprits of the roadside litter problem: first, people throwing trash from their vehicles; second, people hauling trash to the landfills and not securing their loads. I once got behind a truck and a trailer in East Milton going to the central landfill in Bagdad. I believe he lost one third of his trash before he reached the landfill. The third, and in my opinion the worst offenders are the large companies that haul trash for a living. I can’t count the times I have been behind those large trucks and litter is flying out of those trucks as they fly down the highway. In my opinion the only solution is for local and state police to hit those people with significant fines that they abandon their littering ways.
Saturday 8:21 p.m.
Hi, I’m reading Saturday’s Press Gazette about the school bus drivers wanting to join the labor union. Anyone who has any involvement in the union knows that unions are ruining this country. Do not let the bus drivers join the union or we will be up a creek. And the bus drivers are saying they cannot promise labor peace? That sounds a little bit like they’re saying they’re not promising to be peaceful. Do not let the unions come into this county. Thank you.
Sunday 9:06 a.m.
Yeah this is Bobby. Recently I was reading your coverage of the Ivan hurricane and it’s pretty good. I live down on the water in East Milton. We had 7 feet of water and mud in our house and we didn’t have any power, water, or anything but we had to clean up and East Milton Water Company came down and came round to each house and told us they’d turn the water on but you couldn’t drink it, but you could use it to clean up. That was real nice and as far as the bridge, both sides of the bridge were closed and tore up. I worked in Pensacola. We had to go through Cantonment to get to work until they build the temporary bridge. We drove that temporary bridge, steel bridge that was two lane, one lane each way until they got the big new bridges open. Thank you.

This is Dan and I wanted to talk about the 87 connector that’s mentioned on the front of the page on the right side, top article. What 87 connector is being referred to there exactly?
Sunday 11:09 a.m.
Yeah this is Bobby. I just wonder if I got it right. The city, they want to preserve all these historical buildings and they want the courthouse downtown with more parking, yet they want to 4-lane the road right through there. Looks to me like some of the historical buildings and maybe even the Imogene Theater or part of the courthouse or something is going to have to go to 4-lane 90 through there. I just wonder if any of them have some interests in some property they want to sell to the state or something. Just a thought. Thank you.
