Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office (SRSO) reports an incident on Thursday with a Jay man hitting a woman in the head with a gun in Milton.
Alton Ray Simmons, 52, was arrested for aggravated battery using a deadly weapon when SRSO deputies were dispatched to a home in Milton. Reports said Simmons was found in the back of the home and was taken into custody immediately, due to the notes given by dispatch. The victim told deputies she and Simmons argued all day due to keys to an RV camper. Reports said the victim also told deputies when she did not comply with Simmons, he hit her on the side of the head with a small brown pistol. Deputies note in the report the firearm was found on the porch in a black holster next to a chair.
Reports said Simmons told deputies nothing happened and he never hit anybody. Reports said he told deputies he was sitting on the porch earlier and he owned a .38 Special revolver with a four inch barrel. Deputies said he then told them where they could find the gun.
