Melissa Stankard, with a local rescue called SouthBark, said a bonded pair of Am Bulldogs, Tink and Tank, were rescued from Mobile County Animal shelter who were owner surrendered two years ago. A family adopted them, but nine months later with economic troubles, the family had to return them. Stankard’s family took in the dogs, but Tink had to be put to sleep due to painful orthopedic issues. Tank suffers from squamous cell cancer, Stankard said, and is recovering from what is believed to be a gunshot wound from when he was first rescued. Tank has a bucket list, she said, and has checked off “riding in a fire truck” with Danny Murphy of the Pace Fire Department. See more of Tank’s adventures at: www.facebook.com/TANKVERSUSCANCER.
