Santa Rosa County 4-H is hosting a 5k fun run Sept. 13 starting at 8 a.m. at the Blackwater Horse Stables and traveling south along the Blackwater Heritage State Trail to Munson Highway. The Santa Rosa 4-H Fun Run is a great opportunity to support youth in our community who wish to participate in the many programs Santa Rosa 4-H has to offer. The cost to register for the fun run is $30 for adults, $25 for youth and $10 for Santa Rosa County 4-H members.
Register online at http://www.active.com with coupon code SRCSAVE5 to save $5. You can also pick up a registration form at Grover T's BBQ located at 5887 U.S. 90 in Milton. Participants who register before Aug. 25 will receive a free T-shirt. Registration on the day of the run will begin at 7 a.m. and a raffle for door prizes will take place after the race.
Proceeds from the fun run will go toward providing 4-H camp scholarships to 4-H youth members as well as fund several 4-H camps throughout the year. 4-H is for all youth ages 5-18 – both rural and urban from all racial, cultural, economic and social backgrounds. It reaches youth in a variety of ways and as members of the program, youth are provided opportunities for a multitude of awards, trips and scholarships.
