Santa Rosa Historical Society (SRHS) will hold family movies again inside the Imogene Theatre in about 4 to 6 weeks, said Vernon Compton, president of SRHS, but hopefully sooner. Compton said while the movie screen and projector are installed, the electrical work is incomplete. Compton said he’s encouraged by local businesses and individuals who are eager to sponsor the weekly show. There is a questionnaire on the SRHS Facebook page, said Compton, asking what movies viewers would like to see. “We want the community’s input as to what movies they want to see: westerns or science fiction? We want to know what they think,” he said.
Compton said tickets to see the movies will be relatively low to encourage families to feel comfortable enjoying time out together. “We have to charge for tickets to cover the cost of renting the films and maintenance to the theatre, but it will be affordable,” he said.
