SRSO: Man arrested for drugs, felony assault on brother

Deputies from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office arrested Tyler Scott Headley, 20, Navarre, for felony assault, possession of a harmful new legend drug without prescription, possession with intent to sell new legend drug without prescription, and drug paraphernalia according to reports. The reason for Headley’s arrest began with a family disturbance Tuesday.

According to reports, Headley’s brother got into an argument with him about his drug use. Reports said the brother took a purple bag belonging to Headley containing an unknown amount of marijuana and prescription drugs and hid it in the woods near the residence. During the ensuing confrontation, reports said, Headley threatened to kill his brother with the folding knife he brandished if he didn’t return the bag. Reports said the brother and a friend attempted to leave in the car with the bag, but Headley stabbed the tire, deflating it. Headley eventually got the bag after threatening both his brother and friend by swinging the knife inside the brother’s truck.

Wednesday, reports said deputies followed up on a sighting of Headley in the area of Hwy 399. Reports said Headley was also a suspect in several Navarre area burglaries. According to reports, Headley was known to ride in a white Acura they found at a nearby residence. Deputies surrounded the home where they found the car, reports said, and made contact with the owner of the residence. A witness said she dropped Headley off at his neighborhood, reports said, but a deputy found Headley hiding in the woods near the front of the house. Searching the vehicle, with consent of the owner, deputies found a grey box containing a bong, folding pocket knife, and three types of pills: Robaxan, Lisinopril, and Tizanidine. Headley, post Miranda, said the bong was his but denied knowledge of the pills. However, after speaking with other detectives, Headley said he sells the pills he steals during the burglaries, according to reports. Headley is currently at the Santa Rosa County jail under $11,250 bond.
