Dear Editor,
If the deputies want more money, let them get a real job. The cops get to play with all kinds of guns, drive fast cars and do all kinds of fun cop stuff, all on the tax payer’s dime. If the county wants to pay more money, take the money from the cops who leave and give it to the ones that stay. Also, take the supervisor’s pay and lower it. I know they are not under paid. Believe me, there is a line a mile long waiting to take your job. We have plenty of cops. It was a low paying job when you took it, don’t complain now. And while we are at it, this first responder stuff we listen to every time someone does his or hers job. The first real responders are citizens. Whether it’s been the Good Samaritan or Paul Revere and the Minute Men, don’t forget the stories on TV everyday about citizens saving lives. Citizens pull people out of burning cars, help others who are in car accidents, and rush into burning buildings. Citizens helped save lives in the 9/11 catastrophe. Citizens help and risk their own lives without being rewarded or paid. Doing what needs to be done, everyday citizens are the true first responders. It’s time to vote out all these spend thrift county commissioners and incumbents in both the county and City of Milton.
