According to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, Ryan Roman Urbaniak, 27, Milton, committed burglary, grand theft, and criminal mischief Sunday.
According to reports, a victim of burglary on West Lake Rd. reported overnight, someone had forced entry into her home by breaking out the backdoor window. The victim stated she wasn’t home during the burglary but returned around 6:15 a.m. and found broken glass from the backdoor and, a missing television, and missing a month’s supply of antidepressants and pain killers.
The victim also reported a missing television from her sewing room in a structure behind the house. According to reports, the deputy photographed foreign footprints in the yard and dusted entry areas for prints, successfully collecting what appeared to be a single fingerprint from the sliding glass door to the detached structure. Finally, the deputy found a brown t-shirt, reports said, under the back porch appearing to be soaked in sweat, according to reports, which the victim confirmed did not belong there.
On the same day, reports said, the victim identified the perpetrator as her neighbor’s son and she currently had face to face contact with him at the residence. En route back to the victim’s home, the perpetrator was identified as Ryan Urbaniak. According to the report, the victim said she observed a white male in her backyard, while she was in her sewing room, pick-up her chainsaw as to take it as well. The victim, reports said, confronted Urbaniak at the time. According to reports, the victim said she was mistaken about the missing medication and believed none was in fact missing. Reports said the deputy arrested Urbaniak and detained him in a marked patrol vehicle.
Reports said a neighbor approached the deputy, while on location, who reported her father’s home next door was missing a television and a large number of compact discs. She said, according to reports, she had gone to the home after the recent passing of her father to collect the property when she discovered the burglary.
Reports said the deputy went to this home and noticed the backdoor of the residence appeared to have been forced open and a foot print on the door. An empty television stand the deputy found inside, according to reports. The deputy transported Urbaniak to Santa Rosa County Jail without further incident. Urbaniak was released on a $4,250 bond.
