According to Sandy Hobbs, mother of two Boy Scouts, troop 451 will hold a yard sale August 2 starting at 8 a.m. at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church on School Lane. They will be set up on an area donated by the church out back. The money, she said, is for new equipment, mostly camping gear. Multiple families will be involved, so she said the event promises to be quite sizeable. Hobbs said proceeds of items sold by these families they keep, but the families paid a $20 fee to the scouts to set up at the church. Hobbs said they may still accept more families to add to the yard sale. Contact her by e-mail at hobbs1995@bellsouth.net for more information.
