North Davis, M.D. and Andres Candela, M.D. with The Pathology Group of Northwest Florida, have joined the Medical Staff of West Florida Hospital as the exclusive providers of pathology and laboratory services for the all private room facility. Dr. Davis will also serve as Medical Director of the Laboratory. During the transition, Dr. Thomas King will provide pathology services on an interim basis to ensure continuity of care for West Florida Hospital’s patients.
North J. Davis, M.D. – Dr. Davis earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill. His postdoctoral training included a Residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem where he also served as Co-Chief Resident in Pathology. Following his residency training, Dr. Davis completed a fellowship in Anatomic Pathology at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Dr. Davis is board certified in Anatomic/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology and is a member of the College of American Pathologists, the Florida Society of Pathology and the Escambia County Medical Society.
A native of Murphy, North Carolina, Dr. Davis has practiced in Florida and Georgia for the past 13 years.
Andres Candela, Jr., M.D. – Dr. Candela received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Universided Central del Exte in the Dominican Republic. He completed his
Residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine at Wichita, where he also
served as Chief Resident. Following his residency training, Dr. Candela completed a Surgical Pathology Fellowship at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. He is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology and is a member of the College of American Pathologists, the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and the Association of Clinical Scientists.
Dr. Candela has practiced in northwest Florida and in the Miami, Florida, area for the past 23 years.
