Dear Editor,
For the readers out there who think solar power, which is being pushed by the liberal left Democrats, (liberal Democrat investors, follow the money), is a safe, green, renewable form of energy. Google these topics on your computer: toxic solar waste, Abound Solar, Solyndra, cadmium, cadmium clean up, (look for chinadaily, river spill), solar panel life expectancy and any others. Just one fact I would like to point out is Solyndra produced enough solar panels to power 100,000 (misleading statement) homes while producing 12.5 million pounds of hazardous waste, 125 lbs. per house. Is there any reader out there that has a totally solar powered home without being connected to Gulf Power in times of need? Under the life expectancy topic solar panels are said to withstand heavy rain and hail but nothing about high winds and many other cost factors, depending on where they are mounted. If you visit www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/11599, notice the facts included in this article. It is not just someone who throws words into an article like other sites with no facts but backs up what they are saying. Also keep in mind coal has a by-product needed to make steel which is coke, so doing away with one may do away with the other. Are we now going to buy all our steel from other countries? In a time of a true war these countries may not want to sell steel because they might be the one we are fighting or an ally. China is the #1 manufacturer of solar panels so why are they building coal fired power plants (without our technologies for cleaner emissions) in their country and selling us the solar panels? Might this be why they are laughing at us because they know what we don't? The readers need to decide for themselves as to what is truly safe, affordable to them, can truly provide the power needed for this country and in the best interest of the country in every aspect. Renewable energy will most definitely be a power source of the future but the future is also next year and neither wind or solar separately or together can provide enough power for our needs any time soon, they are not ready for prime time.
