Lifeguard to operate air ambulance services

The Santa Rosa County board of commissioners Thursday approved a measure allowing Med-Trans Corporation, the avionics side of Lifeguard Ambulance Service, to operate emergency air ambulance transportation services. Pictured left to right, Brandon Stites, lead pilot, Jason Kimbrell, senior leader Lifeguard Ambulance Service, and Mark Womack, regional avionics manager for Med-Trans. Womack said Med-Trans choppers are night vision capable. “It’s an absolutely essential tool,” he said. Womack said schools will be able to visit Peter Prince Airport and see the helicopter. Stites said this chopper is temporarily operating until the arrival of the Bell 407GX model in two weeks. At that time, Womack said there will be a public presentation.
