Williams sentenced for stalking

State Attorney Bill Eddins announced Thursday Judge Kelvin Wells sentenced Charles Henry Williams, Jr. to 5 years State Prison followed by 3 years probation on seven counts of Aggravated Stalking by credible threat.

The charges of Aggravated Stalking arose after Williams abandoned his 15 year old daughter in Walton County resulting in a child dependency proceeding and placement of the child with local foster parents. Williams then entered into a series of threatening telephone calls to the foster parents, their minor child, his child’s dependency placement counselor, his child’s guardian ad-litem and relatives of those persons in which he threatened death, sexual assault, and other forms of physical harm if his child was not forwarded to him by airline travel. Williams would not return to Walton County to retrieve the child due to the fact that he was a fugitive with warrants from South Carolina and North Carolina.

The joint investigation was conducted by Walton County Sheriff’s Office, Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Department of Law Enforcement.  The case was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Bobby Elmore. For further information contact him at 585-7412.
