Speak Out May 31

I'll call myself a saddened citizen. I'm sad because the mayor, the city council people, the board of building code enforcement people won't do anything about the dilapidated building that's been destroyed since Ivan on Martin Luther King Drive in downtown. We're' supposed to be cleaning that up. It’s been destroyed since Ivan and no one will do anything about it. But I can bet you the mayor and the city council people wouldn't have that building in their neighborhood. That's what's sad.

Hey this is Dennis. I have enjoyed participating in the Speak out. I usually don't get stuck on one topic but I believe I'll revisit the freedom of speech topic one last time. I don't see it as a racial issue. My view transcends all races and nationalities. I see it as a canary in a coal mine, as a slippery slope. Yes, freedom of speech is not so free. Now you may be verbally attacked and next you may be fined, after that you may be jailed, and finally killed. It may be in our future that a preacher gets behind a pulpit and says something that offense somebody. They file a lawsuit and label it as hate speech. I would bet in the last month hundreds of people around the world have been put in jail or killed for what they said or believed. Once one or two freedoms slip away then surely other freedoms will follow. History has a nasty way of repeating itself. Just this week in Thailand there was a military coup. I bet one of the first things they did was take over all the newspapers and TV stations.

I'm glad we have a line we can call in for certain things. It's not complaining or anything. We have school over here in Milton. The kids are bullying their best friends. They don't get in any trouble. And counseling and all these people that work in there, they not doing anything, nothing for the victim. And you want to see why what happens all over America, these kids upset in school. That's very sad. We need to stop that in middle school, little kids. Thank you, Speak Out for letting me speak to you in help for myself. Thank you for bringing that for me.

Yes this is David in Pace, about the article John Robert Barkers had in the Speak Out. If he is not happy with the way we live in Pace, Fl he should carry himself and his family back north or to the extreme west to California that's probably where he’s from. That's where he should go and live, not come here and live. Thank you.

If you guys want to do a nice little story this week, you need to do one on all the disrespectful businesses around the area that don't know or care enough to fly their flags at half mast this memorial day.

Hey this is Dennis, out of curiosity I went into Google and typed in the average temperatures in the Artic and Antarctic and in the Antarctic the average temperature in the winter is minus 76 degrees and in the summer is minus 18 degrees Fahrenheit. The Arctic has an average winter temperature of minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit and 32 degrees in the summer. I'm not a rocket scientist but if the temperature does not get above 32 degrees, how does it melt? I can see if ice builds up and breaks away and moves into a warmer zone and then it melts. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Tuesday 8:07 p.m.

Hey this is Dennis. In Nigeria, I saw on Google where on March 8 2010, 500 Christians were killed near the city of Josh. Hundreds of Christians had been killed since then. Now hundreds of Christian girls had been kidnapped and supposedly will be sold into slavery. I typed in "gun control in Nigeria" and guess what. It is against the law for the citizens of Nigeria to own guns. Sheep to the slaughter. When I served in the army I had many red blooded African American friends. If some group of thugs stole their children and the government or police would not get them back they would get their guns and go and get their children back and dole out a little bit of payback.

This is a quick note for the administration at Bennett C Russell Elementary. When electing candidates for new positions this year, please try to consider experience and education over politics, and considering what the director of elementary education personally wants. Thank you.
