Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs a blood transfusion. That’s why Walmart invites people in the community to join them for special spring blood drives during May at select area store locations.
All lifesaving blood donors will receive a $10 Wal-Mart Gift Card, $5 off two entrees courtesy of Outback Steakhouse, and a wellness checkup including blood pressure, temperature, iron count and a cholesterol screening.
There are eight different blood types and each one holds a unique power to save lives. OneBlood’s Target Your Type program gives donors the ability to learn the power of their blood type and how to donate the specific components of their blood that are most needed by patients at area hospitals.
