Alyssa Quigley, 16, a sophomore at Pace High School, auditioned and was accepted into the prestigious American Ballet Theatre 2014 Summer Intensive Program. The American Ballet Theatre is recognized as one of the great dance companies in the world. They conducted a 24 city national audition tour to choose their dancers. Alyssa said she is honored to have the opportunity to dance with this prestigious dance company. “They are very choosey,” said Dianne Quigley, Alyssa’s mother.
Alyssa also auditioned and was accepted, into the Florida State University 2014 Summer Intensive Dance Workshop. Florida State University Dance is a pioneer and leader among college dance programs.
Alyssa's background includes dance training in Ballet for 11 years, Pointe for 5 years, and she has also learned the dance genres of Modern, Jazz, Lyrical and Tap. She has trained for many years under the direction of Christy Ross, Julie Carrier, and also recently with Gary Noblit and Shannon Haines, all of Time to Shine Center for Performing Arts.
