According to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office, Frank Lee Johnson, 37, was arrested and charged with two counts of property damage, burglary, larceny, and dealing in stolen property. Kristeena Bare, 25, was also arrested and charged with property damage, burglary, larceny, and dealing in stolen property, reports said. Approximately $3771 in Florida lottery tickets, reports said, Bare and Johnson stole from the Berrydale Quick Mart in Jay.
Reports said March 19 at 3:27 a.m., video surveillance from the store showed a male break the front window with a 4-way lug wrench and a woman follow with a black duffle bag.
Once made aware, reports said the Florida Lottery was contacted and the tickets entered as stolen. Reports said the Florida Lottery Division of Security contacted the sheriff's office and advised two of the reported tickets were cashed at Tom Thumb #29 on Avalon Boulevard in Milton the same day, 7:30 a.m.
Surveillance footage from Tom Thumb #29 at the time the tickets were cashed showed a female in the same yoga pants and shoes as the female in the Quick Mart footage according to reports. According to the deputy, a male walked up behind her and began talking with her as she bought more tickets since the Tom Thumb clerk told them and the officer the store either requires customers make purchases to drop the payout under $100 or accept a money order.
Reports went on to say the deputy noticed a white Dodge extended cab truck exit the store going south on Avalon Boulevard just after the subjects left the Tom Thumb. According to the reports, a nearby Lou Sabh's Milton Chevrolet dealership captured the same truck on the same day.
According to the report, the deputy took his information to the SRSO Crime Analyst and asked him to review the surveillance footage from both stores. Reports said the crime analyst gave the names of Johnson and Bare to the deputy who got a lead on Bare's last known place of employment, Grover T's BBQ. According to the report, the co-owner/manager recognized Bare and Johnson from a picture of the two waiting to cash their stolen tickets. Reports said the owner gave the deputy Bare's employment paperwork.
According to the report, the deputy went to Bobby English Auto Sales, the dealership where Bare's truck came from. Bobby English said he recognized the male from the same picture because he was upset he could not purchase a vehicle without a valid driver's license and later was cursing at English over the phone for a problem with the truck. Reports said English showed the deputy the tracking system his dealership uses to track vehicles until loans are paid in full. According to the report, the deputy had Mrs. Thompson, who operated the tracking system, locate the truck the day before the crime and the day of the crime. According to the report, the truck was stationary on Julia Drive, close to the address from which Bare and Johnson were evicted the day before the crime. The day after, the truck was traveling in Lake City. According to the reports, remaining locations of the truck were in Deland, Florida. Reports said Johnson's bond was set in the amount of $27,500 and Bare's bond was set in the amount of $44,000.
