The Webster’s Dictionary defines undefeated as “overcoming one in a contest.” Jay High School Girl’s Softball Team should have their picture posted next to that entry.
They are undefeated, and they haven’t just played a couple games this far in the season. They have played 9 games against district rivals, non-district matches as well as much larger schools. The Royals Lady Softball Team is 9-0. The Royals dropped Freeport 10-0 Friday night, March 7. Micheala Stewart’s homerun and also a double led the way for the Royal’s to send the Freeport Bulldogs on a long drive back home. With 12 hits from behind the plate, the mercy rule was exercised after the fifth inning of the game.
Chassity McCranie was the winning pitcher, completing all five innings. McCranie has a 7-0 record from the mound this season.
