Majors Home Improvement, in partnership with United Way Santa Rosa County, is seeking a family in need of home repair projects. Majors is launching its 2014 community initiative, “Majors Helps” inviting residents to advocate for others by submitting stories for a family in need. Qualified projects include repairing or replacing windows, doors, hurricane shutters or vinyl siding or minor kitchen and bath repair. To advocate for a family, you can fill out an entry form at www.majorshomeimprovement.com/community. Deadline for entry is March 30.
United Way Santa Rosa County and Majors Home Improvement will partner to narrow requests to three selections by April 30. These three selections will be posted on Facebook for the community to choose the project from May 1 – May 15. The winning entry will be chosen by the most Facebook likes. Majors Home Improvement is dedicated to giving back to the community. Majors participated in WEAR TV 3’s Oprah’s Big Give: Gulf Coast which supported families with United Cerebral Palsy and ARC Gateway. “We enjoy getting our Majors family together to help and support others in our community,” states Mike Majors, President of Majors Home Improvement.
“The very first part of living the United Way is advocating for others in need,” says Kyle S. Holley, development director at United Way. “Advocates look, listen, and reach out to others who are in need, to make a project come to life just as Mike Majors and his team partnered with the United Way network for help on this magnificent outreach project.” Holley further says, “We are excited to help recruit local advocates who will step up and tell us about families in need of home improvements.” Find a family in need and enter them for this free home improvement opportunity. In addition, Majors Home Improvement has also joined the United Way post-disaster team of contractors, thereby growing this network of local champions.
