If you think “Knowledge that Works” is the only goal at Locklin Technical Center in Milton, think again.
“Beauty that Works’ is taking center stage, at least for a few weeks, with the planning and staging of the First Annual Miss Beauty that Works Pageant scheduled for April 5 in the Russell Center at Locklin Tech, 5330 Berryhill Road, in Milton.
Excitement mounts as the March 10, registration deadline nears, according to Nicole Pritchett who is in charge of arrangements. “All contest applications must be submitted no later than Monday, March 10, at Locklin Technical Center,” she said. “Our Locklin Tech Skills USA Chapter has worked diligently to put this pageant together. The inaugural “Miss Beauty that Works” Pageant is an opportunity for young ladies to show their beauty as well as their career goals and aspirations,” Pritchett said.
The pageant, sponsored by SkillsUSA, will include a wide range of age groups giving all those wishing to participate the opportunity to do so. Age groups include 2-3 years; 4-6 years; 7-10 years; 11-14 years;15-18 years; 19-25 years.
Ad spaces are available for the program and are available for purchase. They range from $15 for a business card size to $60 for a full page.
Photographer Amber Beasley-Moore will be available to take pictures and will have portrait packages available for purchase. Food also will be available provided by Locklin Tech’s Culinary Arts Program. Prices will vary.
