Speak Out February 12

February 12

Monday 12:28 p.m.

This is Maria in Milton.  I was so happy for the Seahawks to win the game. It was the first time and a big thing to do. Especially we had one from Florida who was the main person to help win the game.  Congratulations.  For becoming hall of fame.  I know someone is looking down to you from heaven.  Thank you, Speak Out.

Monday 8:49 p.m.

These traffic light cameras are nothing but a money making scheme for city hall and some capitalist in Cincinnati.  They don't care about your safety, they only care about the dollar.  That's it. If they really cared about your safety, they'd put a yield line on the road.  If you were past the yield line you would safely make it through . If you were not at that line at that time, you could safely be able to come to a stop at the red light.  It would save lives and wouldn't cost us a penny.

Wed 8:04 p.m.

Putting our courthouse in East Milton would make as much sense as moving city hall to Chumuckla.  Thank you.

Wed 8:51 p.m.

Hey this is Dennis.  America.  Land of the free and home of the brave.  One of my uncles said three things made America great:  God, guns and guts.  Our freedoms seem to be under attack.

Wed 11:49 p.m.

In your call-ins this past week, I'd like to agree with Joanne who made the statement that Carl Dillenback should offer more information regarding the Sabbath and the different things that he said.  He sounds like a man who knows his history.  He offered information on Emperor  Constantine and I looked up the Scriptures and did research on the Roman emperor and found out he was an evil man.  If he was supposed to be a Christian he wouldn't have beheaded his son and had put his wife in boiling water.  I agree with him, that man has changed the ordinances and scriptures.  The law still exists.  I've struggled with this for years and not being able to find a church to go to on the Sabbath. What Constantine inherited was a solar religion.  It's just a big mess.  I wish we could get Mr. Carl to do some more writing.  It's deep and hard to understand.  But I think he's 100 percent correct.  By the way, I'm not Jewish. I want to read more of his writing.

Thursday 11:44 a.m.

Steven King did a great job on his Fair Shot letter to the editor in the PG dated Feb 5.  People should take this to heart and try to help themselves instead of depending on the government just as Steven King says.  We wouldn't have half of the mess we're in and allow the government to provide for you.  Then they will try to tell you what to do.

Thursday 12:08 p.m.

Thanks for the opportunity to speak my mind.  I was reading the PNJ.  It seems to me our government officials are taking all our tax money and putting it where it should not be.  40 percent poverty in SRC is just appalling. Bye.

Thursday 12:34 p.m.

Hello, I'd like to reply to Judy's speak out Friday.  She says, "the heart of every town is the courthouse."  That's completely true if you're in the 1950s. Downtown Milton is one thing, but the courthouse, particularly if the county has property elsewhere, it's a matter of economics, if you ask me.

Thursday 5:54 p.m.

Legalizing illegal aliens. It sounds good.  If you have a heart, let's do it.  These poor illegal aliens. Let's have some compassion.  Okay, so we legalize 10 or 12 million, yet another 20 million illegally cross the boarder.  We legalize those. Then another 40 million illegally cross our boarders.  Where do we stop with the bleeding heart and enforce our laws?  We are a country who enforces our laws, aren't we?

Thursday 10:11 p.m.

This is Ed.  I'm just wondering all around the roads and side roads, all of these white plus signs coming up.  What is that for?  Is it a special reason?  Thank you.

Friday 1:49 p.m.

This is Joe again.  Here we go again.  Another bottle neck on Highway 90 going into East Milton.  Shut down the interstate for icy conditions on Blackwater River Bridge.  And now, we have another big mess this morning on Highway 90. I guess the county commissioners are more interested in building an equestrian center in East Milton or a fishing pier in Navarre, or a walking trail on West Spencer Field Road, and Bob Cole is more worried about taking a boat out of Navarre Beach Sound area. Seems like they have their priorities all wrong.  I hope the taxpayers in Santa Rosa County will get rid of all of the county commissioners and start fresh.  Have a better priority of how to address our problems here.  Thank you.
