Statin Drugs and Cholesterol are Topics of Sacred Heart Seniors Seminar in Pensacola

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Sacred Heart Senior Spirit will present a free seminar titled, “Statin Drugs and Managing Cholesterol” on Monday, Jan. 27 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Greenhut Auditorium on the campus of Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

The seminar, presented by Dr. Charles Mayes, an interventional cardiologist with Sacred Heart Cardiology, will explain the pros and cons of statin drugs.  In addition, he will cover the proper ways to manage your body’s cholesterol.

Dr. Mayes trained for three years in general cardiology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C.   He remained at Duke for fellowship training in interventional cardiology and congenital heart diseases. His medical interests include interventional procedures to restore blood flow to coronary arteries and peripheral arteries, management of hypertension and cholesterol, heart valve disease, and peripheral vascular disease.  Dr. Mayes sees patients at the Sacred Heart Cardiology office located at 5153 N. 9th Avenue, Suite 404 in Pensacola.
