Become a Panhandle Butterfly Tour Guide
Are you interested in educating and helping visitors gain a better understanding of butterflies, gardening, and the natural habitat in which butterflies thrive? Then you might enjoy joining the Tour Guide Team at the Panhandle Butterfly House.
Tour guides are trained volunteers who educate visitors about Florida butterflies, butterfly gardening, their importance in the ecosystem and their natural habitats. Volunteers will guide groups of mostly children on tours and school field trips on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays, usually two to three hours at a time. New volunteers are teamed with experienced volunteers, and continue to support involvement by providing new, updated information when needed.
The key to being a successful tour guide is attending the free required training course. After completing the course, new volunteers will have the tools and knowledge to extend awareness of these wonderful creatures to our community and visitors. Class size is limited to ensure individual attention and training can be provided, so advance registration for the training is required.
The next training class is Thursday, January 23 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Panhandle Butterfly House. The Panhandle Butterfly House is located at 8581 Navarre Parkway (Hwy 98) in Navarre Park just west of the Navarre Bridge.
