Food, diapers still in demand

Officials with Toys for Tots, United Way Santa Rosa say the program has been a great success for Christmas season this year collecting new toys for less fortunate children. “People have been generous,” says Kyle Holley, United Way. Hundreds of toys were given out on Thursday in Milton.

Holley says during the toy drive, they’ve found another great need: diapers and non-perishable food items, like canned goods, to re-supply the local food banks. Drop-off points for those items are the United Way Office, between McDonald’s and Wendy’s on Hwy. 90 in Milton. And in front of the Pace/Pea Ridge Wal-Mart a U-Haul truck is available for drop off donations or contributions. The truck will be there for several more days, Holley says.
