Saturday 9:24 p.m.
Jeff here. Going through Saturday's paper for the third time and I see nothing about the fence on Hickory Hammock. It's on public property so a news agency should have no problem accessing public records. It's my third request. What's up with that fence? Who paid for it? Who built it? Why is it there? Just wondering. Can I please see something about it. You said Wednesday you should have something on Saturday and it's Saturday. I also want to know who requested it. Was it county officials?
Editor’s note: We have calls placed to the county and FDOT. We will report back to you as soon as we hear anything. The public has access to public records too, by the way, have you called them?
Thursday 7:27 a.m.
This is Nita. My what a president. He didn't respect himself or the man he was supposed to overseee. Thank you.
Thursday 10:36 a.m.
My name is Shelia. I am in favor of the new county courthouse being built in East Milton instead of on Avalon sites because of how much money will be saved. The paper has it right.
Thursday 11:50 a.m.
This is Mary, a senior citizen very concerned about the thing that is going on about Blackwater River State Forest and the military and the testing. I'd like to inform the people that's having all of these meetings, ever since the '60's the military has always had men making maneuvers it's a regular thing. I live almost to where this area is going to be and I think they need to consult people that live here instead of environmental people. That would help. Thank you.
Thursday 11:02 p.m.
I have a comment. In the December 11 paper in the Speak Out. It's so filled up with people saying long things. Half of the paper is filled out with long comments. Bye.
Friday 9:47 a.m.
I'm calling about the new courthouse that needs to be built. The only place it needs to be built is in East Milton. It doesn't take an Einstein to figure out that out there is the best place for it where we don't have to traffic people back and forth to the jail. Put it on the referendum and have people vote on it and see if you don't get a quick answer of the same thing. Thank you.
Friday 12:12 p.m.
This is Barbara. This is for the person who called in about her nephew not getting to eat at Milton High. Everyone knows you have to be pre-qualified. Your pay scale determines whether you eat free or not. Even a 9th grader should know that. Thank you.
Saturday 7:57 a.m.
This is Nita. As far as the fiasco with the palm trees, just remember the name of the nursery and who's coming up for re-election. That's the best way. Thank you.
Saturday 1:07 p.m.
Hello. I am a business owner in Milton. I called the 911 number this morning and today's date is 12-14. I called around 11 o'clock to report a domestic violence problem about two guys fighting. They, the 911 person transferred me to the City of Pensacola. They told me to call the county. I told the dispatcher and he told me to call county. I didn't have pen or paper to write a number down. My question to him is why don't you get off your butt and call? I'm not law enforcement, you are. This is pitiful. He didn't think enough of the domestic violence.
Sat 3:05 p.m.
Hi this is Jim in Pace, regarding the courthouse. Why not just take the old Food World building? It's already there with parking and lighted and accessible to the handicapped. Soon the Kmart building will be vacant after it closes. It's already there, why not use it? Thank you.
Saturday 5:19 p.m.
This is Bobby. I just read your article about the palm trees in the median. From what I gather, the people in the city just wish no one had seen it. In other words its okay to do whatever you want to do as long as no one seen it so they can vote against you. They sound like Hilary Clinton when she testified before Congress about those people who got killed in Benghazi. "At this point what difference does it make?" Well, come election time it may make a difference.
Saturday 5:22 p.m.
This is Pete. Every time I read a Speak Out submitted by (removed), this old saying comes to mind: Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
Saturday 5:38 p.m.
This is a concerned tax payer in SRC. I would like for someone to explain to me how a person who is incarcerated could continue to get free rent from the tax payers for a HUD house and have their family living in the house while they're incarcerated? Doesn't someone need to contact the landlords and let them know the individual is incarcerated? An example of that is a home on Gray Street in Milton. If anyone could answer this for me, I would like to know.
Saturday 5:42 p.m.
This is Bobby. I see you have another diatribe from Raymond Johns that the whole world hates him. Says Dr. King's death was in vain and it wouldn't be if people would believe what he said. All black people don't have to think the same. Walter Williams isn't a traitor because he thinks different from Jesse Jackson. You need to think for yourself. You'll figure out that everybody doesn't hate everybody. It's just you. Thank you.
Saturday 6:17 pm
Hello. This is Kevin. I want to tell you Thanksgiving is for real. Raymond Johns. I don't know where we would be without him. He's keeping racism alive because he blames the white man. He's a racist himself. This is for Raymond.
Saturday 6:32 p.m.
I was going out this morning to get my mail. I looked up and thought the sky was falling. Should we call Raymond Johns, Chrys Holley, Maria and everybody. I ran inside. I think it's going to be alright.
Sat 7:21 p.m.
Regarding the courthouse? Why not tear down the old one and build a new one in the same place? East Milton is too far out. Usually the courthouse is closer to the center of town. This is Martha. Thank you.
Sunday 7:07 a.m.
I'm calling about the Christmas Redneck Parade. It looks more like a clan rally parade to me with all of the rebel flags. I'm a black man who's middle aged. I think it's unheard of to see all of those rebel flags with people acting silly in the name of Christmas.
Sunday 8:58 a.m.
I like Walter Williams and I think he's a very smart black man. Thank you.
Sunday 3:42 p.m.
This is John. Walter Williams is definitely an American patriot. He is due our respect, because he's an educated man who applies his education to his everyday life. He is unlike (removed) the person who is always writing letters and calling into speak out who's never had a job. He is a welfare case and always been a welfare case. I, myself, have offered him several jobs and he's never offered to take one although he's supposedly needed one. Would you please edit some of his stuff out of the paper? Thank you.
