Mulford leads Jay in loss

Jay High Lady Royals hosted the Flomaton Hurricanes and came up on the short end with a loss 31-43. Jay was suffering as one of their leading season scorers, Hillary Hendricks, was out with an injury.

At half time Jay was only down by 2 points.  Carissa Mulford hit a 3-pointer at the start of the third quarter to put the Royals up by 1 point.  Flomaton responded with a 3- pointer and maintained the lead for the rest of the game.  Jay pulled within 3 points once again on a Mulford rebound, where she drove the entire court and shot a short 2-point jumper to make the score 23-26.  

The fourth quarter began with Jay down by 3 points, 27-29. Jay only scored 4 points during the last quarter.

Mulford led Jay with 15 points. She went to the free throw line 14 times capitalizing on 10 of those shots and also finished the night with 4 rebounds.

Taylor Moore grabbed 7 rebounds for the Royals and Emily Russell had 5 rebounds for the night.
