Speak Out – Nov. 27, 2013

Friday 6:30 p.m.

Thank  you for the opportunity to say whatever is on my mind. This is Raymond.  I just wanted to say that being it is the fiftieth anniversary of John F. Kennedy's  assassination.  I want to say there is no reason to theorize his death.  It was conspired.  His death, Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr, death was conspired by white men with guns.  There is no theory needed.

This is Craig in Milton.  I commend the PG for having the offender's pictures put in the paper under arrest I don't think it would be too much effort to at least weekly go to the clerk of court, and publish weekly the outcome of the trials of these individuals whether or not they were found guilty or innocent and also if they were found guilty, what the sentence are being given by the judges.  That way we can find out whether or not we have an effective justice system.  If it is, giving these people who are found guilty, if it's the correct amount of time maybe to change that way of life or whether it's just a slap on the hand and we continue seeing their pictures in the paper over and over, as we have many times. It would be an effective way to find out whether or not the individual was found innocent under circumstances and be forever tainted by the fact that their picture was in the paper.  However, sad to say, the majority are guilty.  Thank you for the opportunity to speak out.

Saturday 10:11 p.m.

I’m calling to say the drivers here are terrible. People who are sitting in a line at a light in traffic and get a green light, then sit there and hold traffic up to let one person go are the worst. It’s dangerous to let someone go when traffic has been waiting to move. And if they go all the way across the lane to the other lane, they might get hit when someone doesn’t see them. This happened in front of me on Highway 90 in front of Fred’s two nights ago. A huge gap in traffic formed while this woman sits there and tries to coax another driver to pull in front of her. I bumped my horn to get her to go and she flipped me off. Sometimes I wish I was a big rough man so I could just get out of my car and teach them how to drive. Road rage? You bet. I’m just glad I am not related to these people.

Sunday 8:37 a.m.

Everyone needs to stop for a minute and think of who they can help as Thanksgiving gets closer. There are a lot of lonely people who could use even the smallest gesture of kindness. Those commercials on television that say people around us are hungry and we don’t notice are right. I know because I have a job and kids and sometimes I go hungry myself. I hate to think about people who are alone and have no way to find help. Be their help.
