Historic Cemetery board seeks donations for repairs

Milton Benevolent Cemetery, a public entity, seeks deductible contributionsfrom businesses and individuals to repair the commerative plaque on the brick base of the Fallen Warrior Monument.

Many veterans are interred in the historic burial ground, including a Revolutionary War soldier, Aaron Snowden.  The burial ground also holds much local history, such as the first Florida State Supreme Court Chief Justice, noted Bill Bledsoe,  Cemetery manager. A local talented sculptress and artist, Roxie Platt, designed and donated theFallen Warrior Bronze statue, in honor of her father. She has the mold ready to be cast for the Plaque, but asks the Cemetery to cover the $2,500 for the Foundry cost.

To contribute,  make checks payable to:  City of Milton,  noting in left lower corner  Milton Cemetery,  and mail to:  Milton Cemetery,  P. O. Box 909,  Milton, FL., 32572.  Contributors will be sent a tax-deductible receipt.
