Firefighters are on scene of a one acre brush fire, moving southwest near Garcon Pt. Rd. and Mary Kitchens Rd.
Florida Forestry Service is en route from the Milton office.
Fire department chief has called for sheriff's deputies to assist with traffic.
One home is in the area of the fire. A crew has been assigned to protect the home.

2:04 p.m. Update: Additional trucks called to assist. Fire spreading.
2:39 p.m. Update: One Florida Forest Service bulldozer and local fire departments are on scene of a fire on Garçn Point south of Milton near Bon Bay Drive. Three more tractor/plow units are en route. Acreage and cause are unknown at this time.
3:13 p.m. Update: Florida Forest Service crews are now responding to a second wild fire in Santa Rosa County, this one in East Milton off Highway 87. Separate crews are working a fire off of Garcon Point Road south of Milton and a Forest Service helicopter is en route.
