Numerous vehicles burglaries have occurred since Friday October 25th in different locations throughout the City. It is believed two or more criminal groups are working the different areas. The vehicle burglaries are occurring in the overnight/early morning hours. The majority of the vehicle burglaries were vehicles that were left unlocked.
The areas the vehicle burglaries have occurred are as follows: 4301 Creighton Rd. [Woodcliff Apts.], 7171 N. 9th Ave. [Sun Runner Apts.], 711 Underwood Dr. [Chapins Landing Apts.], 4344 Langley Ave. [Bay Oaks Apts.] and the East Hill neighborhood. During three of the vehicle burglaries, spare keys to the particular vehicle being burglarized were found and the vehicles were stolen. One vehicle has been recovered by Police.
In the early morning of Saturday October 26th, a vehicle burglar was apprehended in the area of 7171 N. 9th Ave. DiQuan Markese Adams, 19 y.o.a. of the 1400 block of North 8th Ave. was arrested and charged with multiple counts of vehicle burglaries, grand thefts, petit thefts and resisting arrest without violence. More charges are pending. The investigations are on-going at this time.
It is strongly suggested that citizens lock their vehicles and removed valuables from their vehicle [i.e. firearms, spare keys, laptops, cell phones]. Also, please call the Pensacola Police Department if suspicious vehicles or persons are seen your neighborhood.
