Escambia – U.S. Marshals Task Force Captures Violent Felon as He Attempts to Flee

The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a Pensacola man after he tried to run out the back of the house where he has been hiding.

Marshals and the Task Force caught up with Jeremy Jarmine Whiting at a home on East Scott Street just after 2 p.m. today. They converged on the home after seeing Whiting coming in and out of the residence while conducting surveillance.

The Task Force was assisted by Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and K9 units, as well as Task force Officers from Escambia, Santa Rosa and Walton County Sheriff’s Offices along with FDLE.

Whiting was caught and arrested without further incident in the back yard of the home, as he tried to climb over several fences trying to avoid being captured.

A small amount of what appeared to be marijuana packaged conducive to that of being sold was recovered from the home.

The 27 year-old Whiting was brought to the Escambia County Jail and booked without a bond.

Whiting’s warrant is for Aggravated Assault, Assault, Resisting and Violation of Probation possession of a Weapon. Whiting was arrested by the FRFTF in 2007 during one of their nationwide Operation FALCON (Federal And Local Cops Organized Nationally) fugitive round-ups. Whiting was wanted at that time for Aggravated Assault with a Gun.
