A Milton man was arrested after he allegedly struck a man over the head with a pipe wrench during a drunken scuffle, according to a Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office report.
Jesse Roland, 49 of the 5000 block of Ridgeway Blvd., was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, a second degree felony after an altercation.
Deputies responded to complaints of a battery. Upon arrival, they found the victim bleeding with blood spatter on the floor and on furniture. Deputies noticed several cuts on the victim's head and a laceration on his right forearm.
The victim told authorities he was drinking with friends on Roland's front porch during the weekend. He said he didn't know why Roland struck him with the wrench. But he did tell authorities that the aggressor was "drunk and belligerent."
Deputy Randy James stated in his report that that Roland spontaneously uttered "Bobby jumped on him first," after he was taken into custody.
Roland was arrested and booked into the Santa Rosa County jail. He was issued a $10,000 bond.
