They got soaked. They won a championship trophy.
The Milton High School Ladies Golf Team won the 2013 FCA Golf Tournament held at A.C. Read.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes Golf Tournament had 16 teams competing in it. It was the first time Milton had ever won this tournament. In addition to the championship trophy, each team member and Coach Tracey Worrell reaped a sense of personal satisfaction from their victory. Their team had been honored to attend the FCA golf camp this past summer.
There was also a little sweet revenge for Milton as they beat Niceville High School along with Ft. Walton Beach. Both schools had recently slid by Milton in a match, and upset the Panthers undefeated streak.
But Milton won the FCA trophy, in the rain.
The Panther team was led by Hallie Rice low score of 82. Followed by Lexi Worrell 84, Lauren Ybarra 93, Paige Moberly 94, and Conner McCreless 99. For a team of score 353.
Pace High School’s Ashley Rogers had an impressive finish in the tournament as well. Rogers low score was 80.
