Story Time @ Your Library – Month of October

Story time for 3 to 5 year olds who are able to attend without a caregiver will be held during the following times:

•              11 a.m. on Mondays at the Jay Library

•              11 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Navarre Library

•              11:15 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Milton Library

•              11:15 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Gulf Breeze Library

•              11 a.m. on Fridays at the Pace Library

Fall Book Sales @ Your Library

Mark your calendars for upcoming opportunities to shop for bargain books of all types and subjects, for all ages. Santa Rosa County Library Friends groups regularly hold book sales to raise funds for Santa Rosa Libraries, providing supplemental resources for library programs and activities and support for youth programs and special events throughout the year.

Friends of the Pace Library – Saturday, Oct. 5 from 8 a.m. – noon at 3275 Cobblestone Dr., Pace in the Stonebrook subdivision

Friends of the Milton Library – Oct. 12-13, at the Milton Library located at 5541 Alabama St., Milton

•              Fri day – 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.                                              

•              Saturday – 9 a.m. – noon                                         

Beginner Drawing Classes @ the Pace Library, Friday Oct. 4, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.

The last in a series of beginner drawing classes for ages 10 – 19 will be held at the Pace Library, located at 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd. in Pace on Friday, Oct. 4.  Develop artistic skills you never knew you had!  Even if you’ve never drawn a line, these classes are designed for success.  If you love to draw, you may discover new skills and techniques.  These classes are fun, easy, rewarding and free!  All supplies provided.  Sign up at the Pace Library, or call  981-READ (7323) to reserve your space.

Pajama Party @ the Library – Oct. 15 & 16

To celebrate and promote the value of reading, we are hosting a pajama party. Grab your parents and a stuffed toy and bring them to the library.  Come dressed in your PJs and fuzzy slippers to join us for all the fun!  Miss Debbie will read some of your favorite library books.  The party will be @ the Milton Library located at 5541 Alabama St, Milton, on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 5 – 6 p.m. and @  the Jay Library located at 5259 Booker Lane in Jay on Wednesday, Oct. 15 from 5 – 6 p.m.. The event is free and open to the public.

Reading Education Assistance Dogs @ the Pace Library – Oct. 19, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Come, Sit, Stay & R.E.A.D. with a Furry Friend in the Pace Library on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Registration is required. The program is held in the Pace Library located at 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd. Contact the Pace Library for more information or to sign up.

Genealogy Research Assistance @ the Milton Library – Mondays,  9 a.m. – noon, Tuesdays, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

On Mondays from 9 a.m. – noon, Tuesdays from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m., library volunteers are available at the Milton Library located at 5541 Alabama St., to give general genealogy research guidance; one-on-one assistance in using online and print genealogy resources for family researchers; and assistance in filling out ancestral charts and family group records. Beginners and seasoned researchers are invited to use these services. To ensure a volunteer is available to assist you, please call before you visit.

National Friends of the Libraries Week – Oct. 20 – 26

Have you joined your Friends of the Library? Library lovers everywhere are invited and encouraged to join your local Friends of the Library group. These dedicated volunteers advocate for libraries, raise much needed funds, sponsor programs and special events, and host popular used book sales. If you haven't joined your Friends, contact your local library and find out how to join today.

Fall Into Fun @ Your Library – Oct. 26, 10 – 11:30 a.m.

Wear your favorite costume, and enjoy story time, snacks, and crafts for Preschool – 5th Grade.
