Another year of AWANA is about to begin at Woodbine Baptist Church. A non-denominational Christian ministry, AWANA is designed to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. At AWANA meetings, children hear Bible stories, learn Bible verses, play games, do crafts, and enjoy free time with their friends in a safe and wholesome environment. For many kids, AWANA is the highlight of their week.
At Woodbine Baptist Church, AWANA is offered on Sunday evenings from 5-7 p.m. The Club is open to children as young as age 2 up through the 6th grade. Four different classes are available, based on age. The “Puggles” class is for 2-year-olds and younger 3-year-olds. The “Cubbies” class is for Preschoolers aged 3 to 5. Kindergarteners through 2nd Grade students attend “Sparks” while “T&T” (which stands for Truth and Training) is made up of 3rd through 6th Graders.
AWANA begins this Sunday, September 15, at 5, but students are welcome to join at any time. There is a nominal fee associated with AWANA to cover the cost of uniform and textbook, but scholarships are available. For more information on the AWANA program in general, check out the website at http://awana.org/.
Parents with children attending AWANA are invited to attend Woodbine Baptist Church’s Sunday evening Bible Study and/or Worship service. Bible study classes run from 5-6 p.m., immediately followed by Evening Worship at 6 p.m. Otherwise, parents should be able to be reached by telephone or cell phone for the duration of the AWANA meeting.
