Speak Out – August 24, 2013

Monday — 11 a.m.

This is for the Santa Rosa County school district. I want to know why high school teachers cannot put out a list on tax weekend because there are a lot of us folks that are on fixed incomes that cannot afford to buy all of this stuff after school starts. It's really not fair to the students.

Also, I agree with routing the trucks over the interstate. The roads in Milton are not wide enough for these big trucks to make turns. Thank you very much.

Tuesday — 8:58 a.m.

Yes, I was wondering if you could please print the name and phone number of the 5-year-old that engineered the overpass on Avalon Boulevard that knocked the damn suspension out from under my vehicle.

Because it's like driving off a cliff. Y'all print that information so I can go down there and whoop someone's you know what. I appreciate it. Thank you, bye.

Tuesday — 10:26 a.m.

I'd like to know why the teachers of the high school cannot put out a list on tax break weekend. There's a lot of parents that don't have the money come the first week of school to buy school supplies.

Tuesday — 10:35 a.m.

Yes, Why the superintendent or somebody in the school, give the power to expel a student if the problem was at home.

By the way, this little person, the police come and two minutes later the the school know. And this person got expelled. That kid didn't get out of his house—Call dropped.

Tuesday 10:37 a.m.

Yes, I just want to know why the superintendent of the school in Santa Rosa County have more power than any official to expel a student for very little minor things.

They don't ask the parents. They don't question the parents. They don't answer the parents. They do whatever they please.

And I don't think the police should report anything to the school when it was a very minor thing that happened at home.

Tuesday — 12:30 p.m.

Yes, this is Bill. I see the arrest report. You guys are now showing photos of the people that are breaking the law. I enjoy reading the arrest report. Hopefully this will discourage people from breaking the law and reduce crime. Thank you.

Tuesday — 4:43 p.m.

Hi, this is Will. I would like to know how Bennett C Russell Elementary is justifying holding an instructional position for a non-instructional employee while that employee is finishing their college degree.

There are many highly qualified teachers without jobs who would love to work. This is a violation of fair hiring practices and will be reported to the state board of education. Somebody please help with this. Thank you.

Wednesday — 1:06 p.m.

Yeah, I just want to know why the deadbeat dad parents, man they don't pay the support for child. And they say they going to jail and they still don't pay. And they not in jail, they loose in the streets of Milton. I never seen so many. How come they don't put them away?

These kids are hungry. They don't have no food. They don't have anything they need for school. They have very little support. They decide to come and get the tires from my grandson's bike, for his bike. That's terrible. He never pay a penny for these kids.

So tell me where's justice. Explain to me Press Gazette Speak Out. This is Maria in Milton. Thank you.
