The Santa Rosa County Extension Service announces the retirement of 4-H Agent Vickie B. Mullins. Friends, supporters, past and present 4-H members and the general public honored Vickie by attending a reception.
Vickie’s retirement concludes an interesting, exciting and productive career of over 40 years. She is recognized at the local, regional, national and international level for her abilities in planning and implementing innovative youth programs. Her numerous accomplishments include helping to establish the Florida 4-H Legislature program as a National Program of Distinction, training over 200 youth program staff in Europe and serving as a mentor to many other 4-H agents.
Vickie’s energy and successful programs will be greatly missed by friends and co-workers. Her greatest professional accomplishment has been the helping of numerous young people to develop to their full potential.
Many accolades have been earned over Vickie’s career. These include: the Distinguished Service Award and National Meritorious Service Award for 4-H Youth Development, Regional and National Beyond Youth Leadership Award, First Recipient of the State, Regional and National Power of Youth Award. She has twice been selected by her peers to receive the Florida Respected 4-H Agent Award.
