A woman is dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound near the courthouse in Milton.
"She's been there a couple of hours," says Milton Police Captain David Cox. "We don't even have a positive I.D. on her right now." Cox says she is a black female sitting in a vehicle with California tags.
Cox says there was no suicide note found, but the gun, a small calibre handgun, has been recovered.
Milton police are still on the scene.
The original call was dispatched as a gunshot to the chest.
The southwest side of Riverwalk Park has been shut down and cleared by police.
