The 17th annual Pensacola Double Bridge Run, presented by Publix, a Pensacola Sports Association event, officially opens registration on Thursday, August 1. The race will take place on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014. After the record sell-out field last year of 2,500 15K and 1,500 5K, race officials expect a similar response to this year’s event.
Encompassing two bodies of water, two bridges, two counties, and three communities, the 15K is the signature race of Pensacola. This scenic tour includes downtown Pensacola, the historic district, Bayfront Parkway, a run through Gulf Breeze, then on to Pensacola Beach. The 5K run carries runners and walkers through the sights from Gulf Breeze to beautiful Pensacola Beach on Santa Rosa Island.
Registration for the Double Bridge Run opens August 1 at www.doublebridgerun.com. There is NO day of the race registration. However, late registration will be available, if spots remain, at the Race Expo on Thursday, January 30 and 31 at the Hilton Gulf Front Conference Center on Pensacola Beach. Race Packets will be available for pickup at the Expo that includes a t-shirt, Friday night dinner, post-race party with a meal. Additionally, all 15K finishers will receive a commemorative finishers medal.
