Yes, I would like for actors and actresses in Hollywood to butt out of politics. For some people with little information who don't do much reading or anything other than watching a movie and all listening to some actor.
Some people need someone to look up to. And that's you they look up to, but think about it on guns. They act, and we live. These actors are all protesting your right to have a gun. They've made fortunes on violence, movies and music. In the movies, if it's a good movie, it was to inspire the people. If it's a bad movie, a very violent movie, it's just make-believe.
They have body guards that protect them. But they want to deny you the right to protect yourself because you can't hire somebody to walk around you with a gun stuck behind their jackets and in their boots. And they're making these movies, shooting you in the face one minute with a machine gun, and then denying you the right to have any type of gun you think you need.
People, you need to read, you need to understand what's going on. These actors don't know anymore than you do. They're just vocal because they're out there and you know who they are.
Do not be inspired by these people. They make their lives on violence. Please, think about what you're doing to your children. Do not subject them to these movies or this music. Put your foot down and be an adult. You're not their friend. You're raising them to be a future adult. Get a backbone. Thank you.

Yeah, this is Charles and I would just like congratulate the state of Florida on the Avalon Boulevard project. I've done my calculations, and as slow as they are about rebuilding these bridges, I think the total time is going to be eleven-teen years. Yup, eleven-teen years to do this project. So I just want to congratulate the state. Thank you.

Yes, this is Marie in Milton. I've seen quite a few cars with no back-up lights on their trailers. No headlights on that are working at the time that it's supposed to. I feel they need they need to have it inspected and everything. They should someone there to say "okay your headlights work, your tail lights work and all this other stuff." So, this is pretty silly since they stopped that inspection thing a long time ago. Okay, thank you very much.

Yes, this is Cheryl from Pace and I'm here to complain about the people that use the recycling bins.
I'm here to complain about the people that use the recycle center, with the illegal dumping. Every time I go there, it seems like there's illegal things. Yesterday, I went and someone had taken a child's motorized vehicle and dropped it off there. And then I've seen couches and furniture. I just wish people would use that for what it's meant to be. And if there was some way to monitor it, to keep these people, to find these people for dumping things that are not supposed to be.
I just needed to speak out because every time I go out there, there's something in it that makes me upset. Okay, thank you for listening.

Hi Press Gazette, I was thrilled to see (Mrs.) McKeithen, Asa McKeithen, writing again. I read (her) letter. The other two letters that you turned in didn't hold my interest. And I just got through the first paragraph of both of those.
But Mrs. McKeithen, had a very short letter, but it said so very, very much. And I hope she'll be writing in more for all of us. Thank you.

Yes, I'm calling about the Habitat flare up in the neighborhood in Milton. I would like to know what the racial mix of that neighborhood is and the median income of the people of that live neighborhood. Habitat don't discriminate. They put people in houses all over the county. And I think they're doing a wonderful job.
For anyone not to want Habitat in their neighborhood, I think it's just plain wrong. And go ahead, Habitat, build your houses. People need houses. As a matter of fact, I need one. So, there's more to it than just land value. Thank you.

Yes, I just want to say that they so occupied with the big controversy in Libya. They need to concentrate in the future now.
1983, October 23, 241 marines, sailor and courtman and other federals died in Beirut. 241, and nobody care. No security for these young people. And nobody said…shove it up under the rug. Yeah, sweep it or whatever.
And now what's going on, these people are so busy criticizing the president.
And Mrs. Clinton, she did a good job. All the republicans, including the speaker of the house, need a face slapped. They need to resign. They are not doing their job. All they are doing is criticizing the President. It looks bad all over the world. They just busy like that.
If I was somebody, I make things a sign.
We need new people. We need young people. We need people that have compassion.
Not do this to everybody. And I hope you are taping me because if you don't put this in your Press Gazette. I promise I never buy your Press Gazette. Never again. And I never will put nothing in your Press Gazette. Thank you.

I called the speak out line on Saturday at 12:38 p.m. about the Habitat flare up. But I want to just call and say "thank you," Ms. Sharon Glass. You put it in straight terms. I'm not too good at writing letters to the editor. But, Ms Glass, I hope a lot of other people feel the same way that you and I feel.
And the people that signed the petition, you gave them something to think about. Thank you Ms. Glass and Press Gazette. Do a follow up for us on this story.

I'm responding to the caller whose comments started out in the Wednesday paper. I just want to say they are occupied with the big controversy in Libya. They need to concentrate on the future, now.
Well the big controversy shows that our president, the secretary of state, and the secretary of defense, sat on their behinds, whenever our people, our citizens—fathers, husbands, sons, were left to die as a result of terrorist activity. Now these people, your president, your two secretaries have got the blood of these people on their hands. It should not be swept under the rug for this reason.
The president is totally out of the loop. He was more interested in his fundraiser for Las Vegas the next day than he was in protecting our people.
Now apparently, the person that made this call has no contact with reality. But I suggest that the person start looking at something more than the three or four main news channels and begins to do a little reading and paying attention in the real world and not in this fog of idealism that the caller lives in.
It's people like the caller that put all of this corruption back in the White House. Thank you.

Yes, this is really getting me very, very upset. I know some people don't know if there is really a God. And I hope it is right now. The way that person is throwing note in people's school in office and send anonymous note.
He's doing like in the Middle East, when they do something bad and they cover their faces. That is not a man or a woman to do in this country. We are not communist. And I hope the school superintendent understands that not everybody in Milton, Pace or Jay are not rich. And I mean rich with a lot of money. And police, you have no right to go into any house to see how the family live.
That don't have anything to do with the school. So I just hope that don't happen over here.
That person that is doing this needs a job.
Like volunteering cleaning the streets of Milton and feeding the homeless and feeding the hungry. And there are services for this.
The police and the police department; Sheriff, we know you have a heart. Don't do this to the people. We are not in a communist country. We are in America. There's a lot of hungry in these parts of the world. I just hope you be kind and take care of these people. Thank you.

This is Joyce, from Milton. Once again, our county courthouse location is being discussed by the county commissioners. I commend Commissioner Bob Cole for his suggestion for property on Dogwood Drive. That seems like the most logical place for the courthouse to be—great location for entrance, for parking, for the building itself. Instead of sending it all the way out to East Milton.
Let's all side with Commissioner Cole. Be there at the meetings and voice your opinion for the best place, being Dogwood Drive for the courthouse. Thank you and have a blessed day.

Yeah, this is Ron. I'd like to comment on a little message that Joyce left in the Press Gazette about getting behind Bob Cole and spending almost $400,000 for property that we really don't even need.
They've got a lot of free property over by the jail. And to put that 400,000 in the courthouse would be a lot better than putting it on land that we really don't have any use for. You might be a little inconvenienced, but too bad. The prisoners over there don't have as far to travel and that helps out quite a bit.
Let's not get behind Bob Cole for that. Let's make sure they use that $400,000 on the courthouse itself, instead of on property. Thank you.

Isn't it nice to have McDonald's back in town again? Have you noticed the brand new, beautiful building and interior, with the same old service inside?
One person at the counter and ten people waiting on line. Oh yeah, it wasn't that much of an advantage, there. But did you also notice that the prices gone up on a lot of items? So, I guess we're paying for the new building and the lousy service as normal.

I just want to say that whoever signed off on the road construction of Avalon Boulevard absolutely does not know their job. That's the worst, new road I have ever ridden on. They didn't tamp anything. It will have to have repairs done on it within the year. I'm embarrassed to even say it's the new road.

Yeah, this is Bobby. I was just looking in (another newspaper) today. It looks like the powers that be are determined to tell people what they can and can't do with their own property. I don't know what makes them think they know best.
They live in a fishing and boating, RV community, yet they don't want to park where they can see it. I don't know why it would be somebody's business to tell you what kind of ground cover you've got to have to park a boat on.
They said they could make exceptions to keep from cutting down trees. Well if you can make exceptions, then it should be okay. One person got an exception so he could park in the front yard. The other people don't have exceptions, so it's so terrible, they've got to get rid of theirs.
People ought to leave other people alone. Or either move up north somewhere away from the water. Thank you.

Yeah, this is Bobby. I just wanted to say a few words about what's happening to Paula Deen for using the n-word 20-30 years ago. I grew up in the south, in Milton, my whole life.
When I was growing up, it was a common word. And didn't mean anything terrible. It meant the same as negro, black, Afro American or African American. It just meant that the person is black. It didn't mean that he was a bad person.
And that's what people don't understand. Especially people up north. It does not mean anything bad. It's just denoting that they're black. So, I don't see why it's such a bad word but we don't say it now because black people don't want to hear it, which is fine.
But they shouldn't crucify somebody that used it, when they didn't mean anything derogatory by it.

Yeah, this is Bobby. After reading the Wednesday paper. I'm going kind of get this straight. The county bought the Whittle building for almost $100,000, because it's close to the courthouse to store records in.
They been saying they have been so short of money, they wanted to make the little kids in little league pay the light bills at the parks. But now, all of a sudden, they got enough money that they going to lease that building out for $10 a year, which will be no property taxes, instead of selling it.
And they're going build a new building somewhere, when they don't know where the new courthouse will be. So, depending on where it is, I guess they'll have to build another one close to the courthouse when they get it built. Makes no sense to me.

I'd like to thank Mr. Jerry Couey for looking out for our best interests. Indeed, the county does need to be consistent with its policies and use a request for proposal for consultants. Furthermore, I think a 25-year lease is absolutely too long. Thank you for now and bye.

This is regarding the letter in Wednesday's paper from Joyce, concerning our county commissioners and where the courthouse should be. I think before we build a courthouse anywhere, we should be positively positive of who owns the property where it's going to be built.
And another thing, if you want something to worry about, you need to call your school board members, and ask them if Santa Rosa County schools are practicing the common core. Just ask if that is the curriculum that's being taught in our schools. I think you'd be surprised to find out what the common core is.

Yes, this is Chet. One of the things that I've noticed lately that is getting to be real frustrating is trying to order a meal over the phone to the many restaurants here in Milton and Pace.
The food's usually pretty good, but you have to repeat yourself over and over and over. And many times when you get home, the order's not right. Except for one or two of the other restaurants. I've noticed that I can talk fast as I want to, to a Chinese restaurant, and they don't even speak the language that good, but they never mess it up and you never have to repeat yourself.
I kind of want to know why that is. Are we Santa "slows-a" County? Is that it? Thank you.
