The writers of the Declaration of Independence state, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” That “all men are created equal” means the founding fathers believed in the Creator God and not some type of evolution. But this statement has been removed from the Christian context of the founding fathers and is being used to promote homosexual marriage.
The Creator God of the founding fathers made male and female. The female was the perfect match for the male. And the two became one in marriage. The anatomy, for the future of mankind, was not made to fit any other way. When certain early societies chose to pursue homosexuality, God deemed the behavior perverse. Those people ultimately experienced God’s judgment and their own destruction. No where in the Bible do we find God changing His moral code for a society. The recent “equality” decisions which have been rendered regarding homosexuality and homosexual marriage are described in the Bible as abominations to the Creator God; and, they should be to us as well. With our current state of affairs, how can God bless America if America does not first turn back to God and His standards?
The real battle, however, regarding “equality” is an effort to totally remove the voice of Christianity from society. Since verbal classroom prayers were banned for public school officials in 1963, the name of Jesus has come to have little to no respect in society. And the reason for that ruling is that Jesus does not recognize “equality” among the varied religious beliefs of the world. He declares there is only one way to enter the eternal kingdom of God. If there was any other way and any other god, then Jesus died in vain for everyone’s sin and arose on the third day for nothing that is needed. So the real battle is that a secular society does not like the exclusivity of Jesus, His church, and Christianity. Secular society calls this “inequality” and something to be demeaned and silenced.
Soon, the secularists will target the first amendment. The current separation of church and state, and free speech, policies are not enough to silence Christianity. That “all men are created equal” might just be what is needed to declare Christianity and the Bible as incompatible with modern society and thus either an illegal religion or one that must fit into a governmental mold in order to exist.
Christians will get no where by simply screaming about the outrageous and ungodly decisions of our governing authorities. Christians are losing ground every day. But take courage, Christianity overcame the Roman Empire not with grumbling and complaining, but with personal repentance, prayer, and sharing the Gospel. Here is our hope.
