Applications for the 10th Annual Beaches to Woodlands Tour of Santa Rosa County will be accepted through July 1.
The tour is presented each October by the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council. Events stretch from the far northern edge of Santa Rosa County in Jay, Fla., to the Blackwater River State Forest, Historic Downtown Milton, Pace, Gulf Breeze, Navarre and Navarre Beach.
“We are very excited to mark our 10th anniversary this year,” said fifth year tour coordinator Karen Harrell. “The tour is something that tourists and locals alike look forward to each year.”
The tour highlights many of Santa Rosa County’s best-known assets including its rich heritage, recreational opportunities, arts and culture, agriculture, wonderful beaches and waterways.
An interactive form is available at the tour website at www.thebeachestowoodlandstour.com or one may be requested by email: btw@thebeachestowoodlandstour.com or 291-1266.
October is known as a shoulder season along the northern Gulf Coast and area accommodations and rates drop by as much as 40 percent from summer’s peak. Area camping, cabin and RV parks are also popular during this time as outdoor enthusiasts look to take advantage of milder daytime temperatures and cooler nights.
