West Florida Hospital will conduct its next free monthly Red Hot Mamas® menopause management seminar on Thursday, June 20. Entitled “Hormone Therapy: Is it Right for You?”, the session will be held in West Florida Hospital’s 7th Floor Auditorium beginning with a light supper at 5:30 p.m. followed by the presentation by David Mehta, M.D., OB/GYN with West Florida Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Founded in 1991, Red Hot Mamas® is a free membership-based program that provides medical information and peer support to women who are transitioning into menopause, the period in a woman’s life when she ceases to menstruate. Red Hot Mamas® features monthly seminars focusing on medical and quality of life issues as well as treatment options. Topics include nutrition, exercise, weight management, memory loss, menopause and heart disease, and hormone replacement therapy and alternatives. At the sessions, participants will learn how to manage their menopause instead of allowing it to manage them. Red Hot Mamas® membership and events are free and open to women who want to know more about how to effectively manage their menopause.
Reservations are required; to register, call 494-3212.
