The Santa Rosa Island Authority (SRIA) will present a special Mother’s Day concert, “Symphony by the Sea,” at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 12 at the Casino Beach Gulfside Pavilion on Pensacola Beach.
“For years, the SRIA has held a Mother’s Day concert but had to cancel after Hurricanes Ivan and Dennis. Thanks to our many local patrons, we now have the funding to bring back this wonderful event,” stated Buck Lee, SRIA Executive Director.
Performed by the Pensacola Symphony under the direction of music director Peter Rubardt, this special Mother’s Day Concert is free to the public.
“I love playing the Mother's Day concert every year,” said Rubardt. “I always choose a program with a lot of very familiar pieces: themes from movies, Broadway shows, patriotic hits, and more. And the setting is to die for.”
Dr. Thomas Campanella, SRIA Board Chairman, will introduce the symphony and host the concert.
